Sheer Midi Dress

Radical conceptual designer Martin Margiela founded his eponymous couture house in 1988 and quickly established himself at the forefront of the Belgian fashion avant-garde.

This sheer dress blurs the boundary between lining and outer shell. Panel lines and transparent layers reveal what is typically concealed, transforming underpinnings into surface detail. At the back, the Maison’s signature four stitches appear; the opposite of a label.
